At one end of  Bridge Street is <span style=\"font-style: italic\">&#8216;The Triangle&#8217; <\/span>(because of a triangular bit of land that had a tree with railings around it) and the other end leads to The Priory and <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_3\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" onclick=\"BLOG_clickHandler(this)\">Tilehouse<\/span> Street.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on in <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_4\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" onclick=\"BLOG_clickHandler(this)\">Hitchin&#8217;s<\/span> Medieval history, the road was known as <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_5\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" onclick=\"BLOG_clickHandler(this)\">Spital<\/span> or Spittle Street as it led to <span id=\"SPELLING_ERROR_6\" class=\"blsp-spelling-error\" onclick=\"BLOG_clickHandler(this)\">Spital<\/span> Field that had a Hospital on it.
